PALM BEACH MARTIAL ARTS
COMPETITION TEAM & COMPETITIONS

This is Our Competition Team Outlook and Yearly Plan. Rules - Expectations - Responsibilities.....

General Rules, Expectations & Responsibilities

This is a general description of what is expected when attending a competition, Training, or any Event whether away or local.
Our Teams will be held to the highest standards of Behavior, Determination, Respect & General Attitude.
With this being said We must make sure the Athletes have fun, make friends and enjoy the process and events, as much as possible.

Basic Rule:

The Competitor, The Coach, and any Parent Guardian, and or sibling must remember we are representing our School – Dojang, and any action taken will represent us.

Expectation Coaches:

We the Coaches & Instructors have to be certified and registered through our National Safe Sport Center, USA Taekwondo, AAU, World Taekwondo & more so we are held to the highest standards of caring for our Athletes.

Expectation Athletes:

Do your very best and Represent your Family (your direct family and your Taekwondo Family PBMA) to the highest standards and make us Proud. That’s all that can be asked.

Expectations Parents & Guardians:

Support Our Athletes, Coaches, & Judges. Understand that this is learning and we need to promote as long as we all do our best we all win no matter who wins or loses. If we do our best we don’t lose we learn so we can go back and train to improve.

Expectations from Students:

As a Student your First and Foremost Responsibility is your education, so in order to be on our Competition Team you must maintain a C+ to B Average at a minimum to remain on the Team. If your grades drop below this you will have 1 term to fix your grades and if you do not your Team Membership and benefits will be suspended until your grades are corrected. This holds true to behavior as well, if your behavior is under par or below PBMA standards, a meeting will be held between your parents and Master Mark which will lay out corrective action.

Team Levels &Types of Events:

First and Foremost there are 3 main types of Events.

  • Local
  • State / National
  • National / International

Team Levels &Types of Events:

Local Events: All PBMA Students can attend Local Events

Local Events are events that are close and require minimum travel and the event itself is designed for a new competitor or a competitor who wants to try or just have some fun.
Any student from PBMA is allowed to compete at a Local event as long as they fulfill the Minimum Requirements above.
There is a Coaches fee to be paid by all attending athletes.  For Local Events, the total expenses charged to a Coach will be split equally amongst all the Athletes. Qualified expenses are, and are not limited to, Coach’s Event Registration, Coaches Fee, Travel Expenses (gas, flights, hotels, and such) food expenses, and so on.  All these expenses are totaled and charged to the full Team and then divided by all the Team Members who Register for the Event.

State / National Sanctioned Events:

State / National Sanctioned Events are the next level of Event.  Not all PBMA Students will be allowed to attend but an exception can be made by Master Mark and at his discretion only.  There is many variables including and most importantly Safety.

State / National Sanctioned Events will incur other costs such as association Memberships and the Rules of these events change from Event to Event for Athletes and Coaches.

These Events are usually not in a Local area and require Traveling and Hotel Stays.

Any overnight travel a Parent and or legal guarding must attend with any athlete who is a minor.

Parents or Legal Guardians may also have to register with certain associations.

Must be a Member of PBMA State / National Competition Team (see State / National Team Requirements).

For State / National Sanctioned Events, the total expenses charged to a Coach will be split equally amongst all the Athletes. Qualified expenses are, and are not limited to, Coach’s Event Registration, the Coaches Fee is included in Team Membership, Travel Expenses (gas, flights, hotels, and such) food expenses, and so on.  All these expenses are totaled and charged to the full Team and then divided by all the Team Members who Register for the Event.

Depending on the Events other Equipment and/or Uniforms may be required, and we will handle this on a case per-case basis.

Regional / National / International Sanctioned Events:

Regional / National  / International Sanctioned Events are the High-Performance level of Events and are usually Black Belt competitors only.  Not all PBMA Students will be allowed to attend and NO exception can be made by Master Mark because usually these Events have to be qualified for and if you don’t qualify you can’t go.

Regional / National / International Sanctioned Events will incur greater and other costs such as association Memberships and the Rules of these events change from Event to Event for Athletes and Coaches.

These Events are usually not in a Local area and require Traveling and Hotel Stays.

Any overnight travel a Parent and or legal guarding must attend with any athlete who is a minor.

Parents or Legal Guardians may also have to register with certain associations.
